Petticoat Lane E.1. Profile 

Petticoat Lane E.1., is a label that takes its inspiration from Petticoat Lane in London, a famous fashion and clothing market dotted with little curio shops.  Petticoat Lane re-interprets traditional ethnic wear by digging into India’s vast heritage of textiles and reinventing them with modern silhouettes.  
Taking inspiration from our surroundings – from the simplicity of the everyday life to the grandeur of the Mughal architecture; using the intricate embroidery techniques of Zardozi and Aari passed down by craftsmen from one generation to the next, Petticoat Lane’s strength lies in creating beautifully crafted garments for the woman of today. 
 

About the designer 

The designer Divya Sahaya Aggarwal believes the delimiting parameters for personal expressions are defined by what you wear. Her style philosophy is, “Don’t follow fashion; create your own”.  She trained at NIFT Delhi and went on to do her masters from London College of Fashion, and then further honed her craft working with the country’s top designers and private labels before launching Petticoat Lane E.1.
